For almost the entire month of May, Utah weather has plagued us with constant rain showers, thunderstorms, and even snow in the mountains. The local roads and highways had abundant levels of water, forcing most of us to resort to our daily drivers. But for May 30th, Mother Nature decided to make it up to all the car lovers. This day was the perfect day.
As the early sunrise occurred, most local car enthusiasts were outside doing last minute preparations on their vehicles. All makes and models were welcomed. At the location of RallySport Direct, the staff wasted no time setting up barricades and parking parameters, hoping to keep the masses of arriving vehicles organized as much as possible. The calm before the storm was about to arrive.
As vendors were setting up their stations, the Lyfe Motorsports rig arrived with their infamous GTR racecar, a few of their 350Z’s, as well as a few of their track frequent sponsored vehicles. Cheri Miller was kind enough to grace us with the presence of her legendary Lexus LFA. And as the RallySport Direct staff was adding the finishing touches with setting up their cars and parking logistics, you could start hearing engine rumbles, blow off valves, and external wastegates in the distance. Here comes the braaaap!
The first cars to arrive on set were a pleasant variety that any car enthusiast would have been more than thrilled to see. A Lamborghini Gallardo pulled into the parking lot, followed by a widebody Porsche 911 that was a sight for sore eyes. More importantly examples of long winter builds were coming into fruition, as this day marked the first time this year these cars saw the light of day with new modifications that the owners were proud to show off.
Just before noon the DJ booth was setup, and the crowd was in full wing as they made their way into the vendor booths. People had the opportunity to speak with some of their favorite vendors which included the likes of Tein, TurboSmart, GrimmSpeed, among other vendors. Cusco had made the trip down from California, and had their 2015 Subaru STI on display.
Everywhere you turned, you could find a different flavor of car no matter the year and genre.
By the end of the day most everyone stuck around sunburned, excited, and it was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. You couldn’t have asked for better weather, and a better outcome.
The day ended with everyone departing respectfully, and in order. We cannot wait to do it again next year.
The RallySport Direct Staff would like to thank everyone that attended the event! We loved seeing all your awesome builds, making new friends and catching up with old friends. You guys are the reason we love doing this!
A huge thank you to all of the vendors which made the journey to Utah to support the community!
