Now that we have about all of the Cusco braces installed on our 2011 STi we figured it was time to share some eye candy with you! Often people are under the impression that braces are only for looks, and that is nothing but far from the truth! We installed all the braces are once so we don’t have feedback for each individual brace, but the first most noticeable change which we’ve noticed is that the doors open and close normally when the car is jacked up. With no braces installed it was very noticeable as the doors would not quite close the same as when it’s on the ground. The car is also a lot more responsive to direction change, as soon as the wheel is turned in the entire car is planted and sets up much quicker. The rear end is able to follow the front around a corner with more precision, giving more confidence to the driver with much more chassis feedback. The only downside is that the car seems to lift tires more going into driveways!
Overall we could not be happier with the results, as all the bracing gives great chassis rigidity without the bulkiness of having a cage with similar results in handling improvement.
