This here is GT Performance’s new Subaru STi. The video was taken at Hyperfest 2010 where their car ran on a track for the first time. Driven by Igor Soykher, their fastest lap of the day was a blistering 1:20. Very nice!
The car is putting down 500whp using a 2.6L stroker motor with a GT35R turbo setup at 21 psi. Some other goodies include CNC heads, ATL fuel cell, Aeromotive rails, and an AEM standalone. What is impressive is that the stock header is still being used in addition with small diameter intercooling piping, on top of a conservative tune. We see a very promising future in this soon to be monster.
It seems like GT Performance has a pretty good grasp in the power department and we believe it is safe to say that they did not neglect the rest of the car. The drivetrain has been beefed up with an Albins 6 speed dog box transmission, Exedy triple carbon clutch, and a Cusco differential. The suspension and brakes have been replaced with MSI components, Stoptech 6-piston calipers, and Pagid pads. Inside the car lies the weld-in roll cage, AIM dash cluster, and an assortment of gauges. On all four corners are Volk wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires. The list can go on indefinitely but we will just leave it at that.
We definitely like what we see. Keep it up guys!
The car will be back out at the Pirelli Ultimate Track Car Challenge on July 23rd at the Virginia International Raceway so keep an eye out if you plan on attending.
